I will kill Safari...and Firefox

Journal Entry: Wed May 13, 2009, 12:41 PM
Thanks to =kuschelirmel-stock for the CSS and ~Kip0130 for the individual gallery CSS

I have no idea if this will be posted or not, but I'll give it a shot.

I apologize to all the people I am watching, since there are a ton of your deviations I have missed, especially the Apophysis pictionary project that was finished, go see *beeper52's page for it, and finally for my delay in posted the winners of `DWALKER1047's Fractal Contest, which I missed the voting for (grr!).

I had a whole journal typed up, literally everything I needed to post about the winners of that contest, when Safari struck again, and crashed.  Nearly every day, every time I log on to deviantART and attempt to browse the site, Safari will crash.  If I open up four tabs it crashes, if I have two tabs open, it crashes.  I can only view things in one tab, which as you could figure, takes forever, so that's why I have been elsewhere than dA lately.  Safari works on other sites, just not this one, so I don't know what the deal is.

If I try to switch to firefox, so I can get chat with all the Zikes things, it is so incredibly slow I can't stand it.  It will load things fine for about 5 minutes, then die, and come back again 10 minutes later, so that internet browser is driving me nuts as well.

I will return someday, hopefully in a more active fashion, but right now, Safari and Firefox have literally driven me off a cliff.  Apologies to everyone, I see your dev's and journals, etc. I just can't respond to them.  I also have summer classes and am trying to find an internship and a job, so that doesn't help.

But, I am copying this in case Safari crashes again...with 1 tab open. :shakefist:

As a matter of fact,

:shakefist: :shakefist: :stab: :stab: :fork: :pissed: :rage: :rage: :rage: :pissed: :rage: :fork: :stab: :stab: :shakefist: :shakefist:

See, I heard Google Chrome logs what you search for and everything. Seems a bit intrusive IMO. :hmm:

mac? not that i think it really matters, but i dont have very much experience with it at all.

firefox uber slow? that happened to me... before i reinstalled linux on my comp =D

in any case, try opera? its really fast and light-weight =) although some things might be a little funky since alot of sites dont really support it... works anyhow ^_^

i have 12 tabs open atm .. on ff... with a sadly slow comp... xD

Vista, unfortunately. ;)

I used to try Opera, a long time ago. Do you still get problems with Opera in regards to recent changes? I stopped using it because it didn't seem to make the automatic refresh or update that the other browsers did when something changed (new uploads, message center, etc.)

Well, it's working so far...it is handling multiple tabs and the loading times are good. Safari died anyway, so I had to do something. :)
