News

Well, as you heard in my last journal, my "prime flames" project is nearly finished.  I think I only have about 2 flames to render, then it is off to the postworking part.

Update:  Everyone go give major luffs to `NatalieKelsey and ~Lu-Kout for the help, I managed to get the flame fixed with a different version of Apo and some guesswork at the right variations, but it did the trick.  :boogie:

Features
  • Mood: Happy Tears
  • Listening to: Funkadelic - Super Stupid, Maggot Brain
  • Watching: Kings, Lost, 24, Amazing Race, Biggest Loser
  • Playing: with Apophysis and plugins!

PS if you come across something vital that is no longer available, Jed said he'd make you a plugin for it.

If you have Jed's Apo Mods version, try opening it with that. It will open the preview window, and even if you can't see it, there will be a pop up before it opens it in the big window that allows you to see what the known and unknown variables are. That way, you can either tell it to substitute something else for a possibly obsolete variable or at least know what it was made with so you can try to recreate it from scratch. Hope that helps!

Well, unfortunately the little preview thing didn't work, but I tested some variables that I thought would work in their place and it did the trick! :boogie:  :boogie:

Thanks so much! Even if this version didn't find the right variables, it somehow worked with the ones I put in.

 Glad to help! I like how you can substitute things in that version.

I'm not sure if this might be helpful (and this is not a painless process anyway), but I once had a flame i couldn't open in apo, though opening it as a text file allowed me to recreate it from scratch. If you find no easier way and think this can help, let me know I think I've kept some notes about how to work around with some issues i had :)

That's a good point and pretty much what I did. I'm not sure why, but DragonWinter sent me a link to Jed's Apo version and although it didn't pick up the variations, I guessed at what the right combination was and got it right. t1 had juliascope, t4 had julian, not sure why that didn't work before though.
