Well, I just came back from my graduation trip to the Carolinas and Connecticut. My family and I went up to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC for the first night and let me tell you, it is one amazing place. The historic home has like 60 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, an indoor pool and scores of other lavish amenities - oh, and did I mention it was built in the early 1900's!?

After that I went to the BMW performance driving school for a two-day teen school and that was very, very fun. If anyone out there has a new driver in the family (e.g. getting their license soon or just got one), I highly recommend the school. It isn't that expensive but it really helps driver skills. Something that we can all agree needs to be improved in the U.S.
My favorite part was where we got to race various cars around a track, including a BMW M5 (it was really fast!).
After that, it was off to Lime Rock Park and the Northeast Grand Prix. I'm a big fan of the American Le Mans series, so it was quite the treat! Also, on the flight back I believe one of the winning drivers was flying back from Hartford to Tampa, though he ran off before I could find my program for him to sign (first class seats versus seats in the back of the plane).
So, back into the swing of things here - though I am really beginning to love the northeast.
The only bad news: Somehow, amongst all the confusion, the note that I sent to the Apophysis group with my I.D. contest entry was never sent.

Good to have you back, Matt! Sounded like you had much fun.
Oh well, have to leave some stuff for a later visit.
